Economic empowerment lies at the heart of BSDF’s mission, and we are dedicated to uplifting the economic strength of people from marginalized communities across Sri Lanka. Through targeted initiatives and collaborative efforts, we strive to create opportunities for sustainable growth and prosperity.
Supporting Farmers:
BSDF recognizes the vital role that farmers play in ensuring food security and economic stability. Through our initiatives, we support farmers by providing agricultural equipment, facilitating seed bank activities, and provisioning seeds and plants. By empowering farmers with the resources, they need, we aim to enhance agricultural productivity and improve livelihoods.
Women's Economic Empowerment:
In our journey of working with marginalized communities, particularly in the Upcountry and Plantation regions, BSDF has identified the deep need to empower women. As an organization that values gender equality and envisions change through women’s empowerment, we have initiated skill development activities aimed at improving the economic prospects of women. We provide materials, utensils, and tools for women to initiate self-entrepreneurship ventures. Additionally, we offer education and training to women, empowering them to take charge of their economic destinies and play active roles in building sustainable communities.

Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of communities across Sri Lanka.
