WHAT WE DO
BSDF is dedicated to uplifting marginalized communities in geographically challenging regions in Sri Lanka. Through our concerted efforts, we aim to empower individuals and communities by focusing on education as a catalyst for change. Since our inception in 2015, BSDF has embarked on various initiatives aimed at supporting educational programs that foster motivation, encourage academic perseverance, and reduce the number of school dropouts.
Our educational support programs are diverse and comprehensive, addressing a wide range of
needs within the communities we serve.
Here are some of the key initiatives we undertake:
- Direct Provision of Educational Materials
- Capacitating Motivational Sessions for students
- Supplementary classes designed to enhance students & academic performance and comprehension.
- Seminars on various topics, equipping them with valuable knowledge and skills beyond
the classroom.
- Career Guidance Programs to assist students in making informed decisions about their future academic and professional paths.
- Scholarships for Higher Education for enabling them to pursue higher education and unlock new opportunities for themselves.
Since 2015, BSDF has proudly supported nearly 5000 students (working with nearly 60 schools) through these diverse activities. Our partnership with Vanni Hope has been instrumental in providing technical assistance to schools located in suburban and village areas such as Hatton, Kilinochchi, Nuwara Eliya, and Jaffna.
One of our key achievements has been the establishment of e-classroom facilities through the provision of technical equipment. With the generous contributions and leading efforts of Vanni Hope, BSDF has supported 28 schools, transforming traditional classrooms into modern learning environments equipped for the digital age.

Community Development
BSDF is dedicated to fostering community development and empowerment among marginalized communities across Sri Lanka. With a particular focus on regions such as the Upcountry and the North and East, where marginalized communities, including Tamils, face unique challenges, we are committed to driving positive change and sustainable progress.
Health and Sanitation
BSDF oriented on the critical importance of health and sanitation in promoting the well-beingcand resilience of communities. Throughout our journey, we have undertaken various health-related activities aimed at uplifting basic health infrastructure, providing essential materials, and raising awareness about the importance of health and sanitation.

Economic empowerment lies at the heart of BSDF’s mission, and we are dedicated to uplifting the economic strength of people from marginalized communities across Sri Lanka.
